Shelley and Kelly
The Shelley Kelly Band is a group of Western musicians with several decades of concert and dance performance. Shelley and Kelly, fiddler and guitarist, are the nucleus of this Cowboy Western Swing band, performing throughout the Rocky Mountain region from their home in Jackson, Wyoming, for the past 30 years. The band has performed at festivals from the Border Folk Festival in El Paso, Texas, to the Pinesong Festival in Spokane, Washington. Over the years, they have also entertained at the Elko Cowboy Poetry Gathering, and they have performed twice for the President of the United States. Group members have accompanied world-famous fiddler Johnny Gimble and songwriter Stephanie Davis, including a performance in Europe, and a widely-publicized airing of Prairie Home Companion on National Public Radio. With the addition of Vince Crofts on fiddle, mandolin, and guitar, Shelley and Kelly have the twin-fiddle sound in their cowboy music. Vince is a seasoned veteran of countless Western Swing and bluegrass bands, and is the recipient of an Honorable Mention Fellowship from the Idaho Commission on the Arts. Bassist/singer Christine Langdonis a founding member of The Cow Patsies and adds years of cowboy music experience to the band. Rounding out the group is the infinitely experienced drummer/percussionist Max Harrison, of Idaho Falls, Idaho. All band members contribute vocals, and they boast impressive harmonies. Lead voices Shelley Rubrecht and Christine Langdon are the real show-stoppers, though. Their cowgirl duets and harmony yodels have become signatures of the band, along with twin-fiddle classics and guitar-fiddle duets. The band’s arranging abilities make each song unique. With Kelly’s jazz-influenced guitar playing and Shelley’s nationally-ranked fiddle prowess, the band is at home with anything from a Benny Goodman tune to a bluegrass hoedown. The Shelly and Kelly Band is available in various configurations, depending on the needs of your event. From a large dance to an acoustic music festival to entertaining a few friends in your living room, they have the material and appropriate volume to meet your needs. PRICE RANGE: $1,300-$2,500 |
